Kosambari/South Indian salad– 

Kosambari is a Traditional dish of Karnataka state and is a must during any auspicious occassions. Andhra people also prepare it …we call Vada pappu 😊😊. Today I’ve prepared kosambari with one grated carrot, half cup grated fresh coconut and half cup soaked green gram. All of them are arranged in three different layers to represent the Indian flag colours. I’ve prepared this recipe for India’s 73 rd Independence Day Celebrations . Here I present simple, easy and healthy kosambari recipe to celebrate any occasion. Njoy Cooking, Serving n Savoring!

Ingredients:

Carrot: One no.( Grated)

Coconut: Half cup grated

Green gram: Half cup (soaked overnight)

Salt: As required

Lemon juice: 1 tsp

Tempering: Optional

Mustard seeds: One tsp

Coriander leaves: Few chopped

Green chilies: 1/2 nos.

Method of preparation:

🧡First layer: grated carrot .

🥥Second layer: Grated coconut .

💚Third layer: Soaked green gram with chopped coriander leaves and green chilies (All the ingredients are seasoned with salt n lemon juice). Tempering is added before serving. Kosambari can be prepared with yellow moong dal, Bengal gram, cucumber too.
