Tholi Ekadasi- Auspicious day for us. Also my son’s star (Thithi) bday ! He is 13 years 😍now !! We celebrate both birthdays for kids(Thithi n date)!
As per Hindu mythology, one year on Earth is equivalent to one day for God. Each year on earth consists of 12 Masams (months) and each month is of 2 pakshas (15 days period). So, one year has 24 pakshas and these pakshas are considered as 24 hours of God’s day. Ashadha Shuddha Ekadasi day, is the starting of the night time for God and it is believed that Lord Vishnu prepares to lie down for sleep. Hence it is called “Sayana Ekadasi”. Also, today marks the beginning of several Hindu festivals. So, it is also called “Tholi Ekadasi”. On this special occasion I’ve prepared sugar pongal to offer as naivedhyam. This year tholi ekadasi was on July 1st . I couldn’t post on that day so I’m posting it now.
