Peni Payasam

Peni is an authentic recipe of Telangana cuisine. This is simple and can be prepared in a jiffy. Traditionally peni is prepared at home but I’ve used store bought peni to prepare payasam. This is a must during festival celebrations. Here I present simple and humble peni payasam to relish during special occasions. Njoy Cooking, Serving n Savoring!

Ingredients

Phani: 1 no.

Milk: 250 ml or 1 cup

Sugar powder: 2 tbsp

Cardamom pods: 3/4 nos.

Crushed dry fruits: 1 tbsp

Saffron strands: Few

Method of preparation:

🌷. Take 250 ml milk in a vessel and bring it to boil.

🌷. Take two tbsp. Of sugar powder in a bowl. 

🌷. Now pour milk into sugar powder and mix thoroughly.

🌷. Dip peni into hot milk and sugar mixture. Allow to soak well for 3 minutes.

🌷. Now add crushed cardamom pods, crushed dry fruits and saffron strands. 

🌷. Serve immediately hot or refrigerate and can serve later.
