I’ve attempted to make this Kovil /temple style prasadam Puliyodharai /Pulihora !Prepared this with utmost devotion ( Can never replicate 🙏🏻).

Tamarind rice/pulihora at Tirumala is Prepared omitting red chillies and curry leaves. Tempering is done using ghee. Roasted black peppercorns powder is added instead of chillies.

There is a purana behind the prasadams Prepared in Tirumala. In Hindu religion there is a ritual called “saare “(distributing sweets n Savoury items and other household goods to bridegroom from bride parents) during weddings in South India. When Lord Venkateswara Swamy married Goddess Padmavathi Devi some thousands of years ago., it’s said that Akasaraju (Padmavathi Devi’s father) forgot to give curry leaves and red chillies as a part of saare . So they are completely avoided in the prasadam making even now. Here I present Kovil style Puliyodharai to offer as Naivedhyam to God on any festive day. Njoy Cooking, Serving n Savoring!
