Kakarakaya bellam petti koora
This is very tasty and indeed healthy too. Bitter gourd curry with Jaggery is one of the best recipes to include in our menu. The sweetness of the Jaggery balances the bitterness of the vegetable. Ingredients:
Bittergourd: 300-400
Salt: As required
Red chilli powder: 3/4th tsp
Jaggery powder: 2 tbsp
Oil: 1 tbsp
Curry leaves: Few
Method of preparation:Â
🌿. Take bittergourd and rinse well in water.
🌿. Chop them into required size and shape and keep aside.
🌿. Heat kadai and pour oil. Now add chopped bitter gourd pieces.
🌿. Add required amount of salt and turmeric. Mix thoroughly.
🌿. Stir occasionally and keep the lid. If required sprinkle little water so that it cooks evenly without sticking to the kadai.
🌿. Once bitter gourd pieces become soft, add red chilli powder and jaggery powder.
Mix thoroughly and sauté for two more minutes. Also add few curry leaves.
🌿. Transfer the bitter gourd curry into a serving bowl and serve hot with steamed rice. Delicious!
